Internacional 0x2 Athletico-PR

Palmeiras 4×1 Grêmio

Almost 38,000 spectators saw another convincing victory from the consistent Palmeiras against Grêmio, who have been experiencing ups and downs.

Palmeiras entered the field with: Weverton, Mayke, Luan, Gustavo Gomes, and Piquerez, Zé Rafael (Fabinho), Gabriel Menino, and Raphael Veiga (Endrick), Artur (Breno Lopes), Rony (Richard Ríos), and Dudu (Bruno Tabata).

Grêmio, on the other hand, came with: Gabriel Grando, Thomas Luciano (Gustavo Martins), Bruno Uvini, Bruno Alves, Kaneman (André), and Reinaldo, Villasanti (Gaudino), Carballo, and Bitello, Cristaldo (Zinho), and Vina (Nathan).

As usual, Palmeiras started the game suffocating the opponent, and at 5 minutes after a loose ball in the area, Piquerez took a chance, and Gabriel Grando made a great save. It was evident that Renato Gaúcho’s decision to field five players in the first line and only Vina and Cristaldo as players up front made it difficult for the Grêmio to set the pace of the game.

Palmeiras, on the other hand, continued to play the ball well and mark very strong when they lost it, with quick recoveries that enabled the team to find the path to the goal. Palmeiras started to play very well on the sides, with Artur and Mayke on the right and Dudu and Piquerez on the left. Dudu was unstoppable, dribbling the Grêmio defenders with ease and had at least two good chances by the 20th minute.

Grêmio couldn’t play, and Palmeiras continued to dominate all actions. At 23 minutes, after a beautiful cross from Mayke, Palmeiras’ top scorer of the season, Rafael Veiga, entered the area and headed the ball into the back of the net.

Until the end of the first half, it was all Palmeiras. Gabriel Grando made great saves, and Palmeiras players couldn’t extend the lead. At the end of the first half, Bitello carried the ball through the middle and made a beautiful shot into the left angle of Weverton, who still touched the ball but couldn’t prevent the young Grêmio player’s stunner.

The second half started with Palmeiras determined to win the game. Dudu and Mayke continued to torment the Imortal’s defense, and at 3 minutes, after a good play, Artur crossed, and Rony headed, but Grando made another good save. At 8 minutes, after a corner kick by Veiga, Luan headed the ball, which hit Bruno Uvini’s hand. Veiga went confidently to the ball and shot firmly in the middle, 2-1 for the green and white team.

Grêmio still looked very apathetic in the game and seemed unable to break through Palmeiras’ lines in any way, while Palmeiras continued to play their game with great inversions, overlaps, and excellent passes, barely making any mistakes.

Proof of this was the third goal for Palmeiras. The play started with Mayke carrying the ball from the right side of a back line of three. The ball circulated around the entire field, passing through practically all of the Palmeiras players, until Artur, from the right wing, made a beautiful cross-field pass to Dudu, who was on the left wing. Dudu controlled the ball with class, cut inside, and found Mayke’s run, who passed to Rony in the middle of the box.

Rony turned and shot, hitting Bruno Uvini, and Mayke, who had followed the play very well, entered the box, picked up the ball, and shot it into the back of the net. Palmeiras held the ball uninterrupted for two minutes until that goal was scored.

Finally, birthday boy Luan scored after a great cross from Rafael Veiga, the man of the match. The game showed that Palmeiras is able to maintain its rhythm and consistency, while Grêmio suffers from absences and the lack of players with quick transitions.

With the win, Palestra Itália remains in second place in pursuit of Botafogo, while Grêmio drops to 10th position.

Coritiba 1 x 1 Vasco da Gama

More than 20,000 spectators faced the 11-degree cold of the Paranaense capital (Curitiba) to see the modest 1-1 draw at Couto Pereira. Coritiba was expecting its first victory in the Brasileirão, while Vasco hoped to rediscover their good football.

Coxa came to the field with: Gabriel, Natanael, Bruno Viana, Henrique, Bruno Dombroski (Cahncellor) and Victor Luis (Matheus Bianqui), Bruno Gomes, Lizieiro, and Boschilia (Kaio César), Robson (Marcelino Moreno), and Zé Roberto (William Potker).

The Cruz-maltino entered the field with: Léo Jardim, Pumita Rodríguez, Robson Bambu, and Lucas Piton, Rodrigo (Gallarza), Andrey Santos (Figueiredo) and Jair, Alex Teixeira (Erick Marcus), Gabriel Pec (Orellano), and Pedro Raul (Barros).

The game started hot, and at the 2nd minute, Pedro Raul after a defender’s nutmeg finds Gabriel Pec who cannot finish. In the sequence, the ball reaches Jair, who crosses it, and the ball reaches Andrey, who shoots, but the ball deflects and goes out for a corner. The kick goes to Pumita Rodríguez’s head, who heads for an easy save by Gabriel. The Coxa goalkeeper restarts the ball very well, finding Natanael exploring the right corridor, the young full-back controls the ball and gives an excellent cross-shot for the beautiful save of Léo Jardim.

To the disappointment of those watching the game, after this sequence of plays, the two teams cooled down and could no longer impose a good rhythm. The match became very contested in the middle and counted on several passing mistakes from both teams.

At the 28th minute, Bruno Gomes manages to find Boschilia free at the entrance of the area, and the midfielder shoots hard for another excellent save by Léo Jardim. The game continued cold as the city of Curitiba, until the end of the first half, where Robson made a good play on the right and crossed in the first post, Zé Roberto anticipated Léo Pelé and first-shot cross, 1-0 Coxa.

The second half begins, and the game does not improve, Vasco was having many difficulties in exchanging passes in Coritiba’s field, while the green and white could not take advantage of the transitions.

The game improved a bit when the substitutions of both teams happened, especially with the entries of Marcelino Moreno and Kaio César in Coxa and the young Erick Marcus in Gigante da Colina.

After a beautiful play by Marcelino on the left, he gives a sweet touch to Potker, the number 90 arrives free on the ball but chooses to shoot directly, the shot comes out weak, and Léo Jardim holds it with tranquility. In the counter-attack, Gallarza crosses on the right, the ball reaches the second post, and touches Natanael who was distracted, the young Erick Marcus reacts quickly, controls the ball almost in the small area, and puts the round inside the goal, 1-1.

And so the game ended, Coxa remains in the 19th position, while Vasco stays in 14th.

In a contested start to the game, with few dangerous plays, both teams sought to exchange passes to involve the opponent, and the defenses effectively battled and did not give space. Cruzeiro grew and had good chances with Wesley and Bruno Rodrigues.

In a corner kick, Luciano Castán headed a ball that would beat goalkeeper Fábio, but Cano, well positioned, saved Flu by deflecting the ball.

Despite Cruzeiro’s dominance, Fluminense opened the scoring at 43 minutes. After a ball in the area and a scramble, Lima picks up the rebound and shoots, Lucas Oliveira clears it off the line. Ganso takes advantage of the new rebound and puts it into the back of the net.

In the second half, Tricolor extended their lead with Cano. In a play down the right, Ganso found Guga with a first-time pass, and the fullback crossed for the striker Cano to head in alone and score.

At 29 minutes, the referee awarded a penalty for a foul by Manoel on Bruno Rodrigues, and André, outraged by the decision, complained excessively and was sent off.

The penalty caused friction among the Cruzeiro attackers. Bruno Rodrigues took the ball and shot to the right corner, but Fábio saved it, and the referee ordered the penalty to be retaken because the goalkeeper moved off his line. On the second penalty, Henrique Dourado took the ball to shoot, causing a heated discussion with Bruno Rodrigues. In the second chance, Bruno Rodrigues missed, cried, and was comforted by the Fluminense players.
