On Sunday’s regional derby day, Inter secured a comeback victory against Grêmio with a last-minute goal, while Flamengo comfortably defeated Fluminense.

Inter 3×2 Grêmio
In the 441st Gre-Nal, Inter asserted themselves at the Beira-Rio stadium, turning the game around twice to clinch victory in the 52nd minute of the second half.
At 9 minutes, Dodi crossed, João Pedro Galvão headed unmarked, and Anthoni made the save.
Grêmio opened the scoring at 15 minutes with an own goal by Renê. Reinaldo crossed into the box, the Inter full-back was unmarked but ended up inadvertently scoring an own goal while attempting to control the ball.
Inter equalized at 25 minutes. Alan Patrick passed to Maurício at the edge of the box, who controlled and slotted it into the corner, leveling the score.

In the following minutes, Bruno Henrique went down the flank and crossed. Alan Patrick took a first-time shot, narrowly missing the goal.
Inter ended the first half stronger, dominating Grêmio’s defensive third but not posing much threat to Marchesín’s goal.
At 4 minutes into the second half, Maurício crossed, Enner Valencia evaded a marker and shot, but the ball hit Kannemann.
Grêmio took the lead again at 10 minutes. Villasanti received a pass from Gustavo Nunes at the edge of the box, dribbled past two Inter defenders, and slotted it past Anthoni.
At 15 minutes, Wanderson attempted a long-range shot, the ball deflected off Aránguiz and nearly went into the net. Marchesín was diving the other way but recovered to make the save.
Inter leveled the score once again at 18 minutes. Alario, who had just come on, received a pass from Maurício, controlled, and struck with his left foot. Marchesín got a touch on the ball but couldn’t prevent the goal.
At 36 minutes, Inter produced a great team play but was denied by goalkeeper Marchesín. After a good exchange of passes, Wanderson set up Aránguiz with a clear chance, but the goalkeeper made the save, and Alan Patrick missed the rebound.
As the match seemed to be heading for a draw, Kannemann fouled Alan Patrick in the box at 49 minutes. The captain and number 10 calmly converted the penalty, securing a 3-2 win for Inter.

Immediately after, a widespread brawl erupted among players, coaching staff, and security personnel. Only yellow cards were issued, and the match ended with Inter defeating Grêmio 3-2.
Flamengo 2×1 Fluminense
Considering the upcoming second leg of the Recopa Sudamericana final against LDU, it was expected that Fluminense would field a reserve team for the derby. However, Fernando Diniz opted for mostly the first-choice lineup.
In the first half, Flamengo pressed more to regain possession and made it difficult for Fluminense to build from the back. However, it was the Tricolor who had the first dangerous opportunities.
At 16 minutes, Arias took a dangerous free-kick, and Rossi made a good save, tipping it over the bar. From the resulting corner, Douglas Costa played it short to Diogo Barbosa, who returned it. The forward crossed into the box, Thiago Santos headed it into the net, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside after a VAR review.
At 23 minutes, Ayrton Lucas delivered a free-kick, and Léo Pereira found himself unmarked but headed wide.
At 24 minutes, Ayrton Lucas crossed, Martinelli deflected it, and Arrascaeta headed wide.
Fluminense started the second half better and managed to impose their style of play. However, on a counterattack, Flamengo opened the scoring at 7 minutes. The ball fell kindly, and Ayrton Lucas crossed for Pedro to tap it into the net.

At 22 minutes, Diogo Barbosa played a good pass to Alexsander, whose shot was saved by Rossi.
Flamengo doubled their lead with a spectacular play. At 29 minutes, Arrascaeta played a backheel pass to Pedro, who returned the favor to Everton Cebolinha. The winger struck it hard, and although Fábio got a touch, the ball went into the net.

At 38 minutes, Arrascaeta came close to scoring a fantastic goal. Fábio rushed out of his goal to clear the danger but played it straight to the Uruguayan, who attempted a chip shot. The ball narrowly missed the post.
At 44 minutes, Victor Hugo dribbled from midfield, tried his luck from outside the box, and Fábio made the save.
With the victory, Flamengo ended Fluminense’s unbeaten run in the Carioca Championship while maintaining their own. Tite’s side is yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
