First half Japan-Spain
Japan-Spain decisive match for qualifying for the round of 16, also looking at the match between Germany and Costa Rica.
Spain started strong immediately and in the 11th minute scored with Morata, who received a cross from Azpilicueta and scored from a few steps away. Japan in great difficulty tries to react aggressively and three of its players pay the price and are booked within 15 minutes.
The first half ends with Spain in the lead, who control the game in all parts of the pitch with his dribbling.
Second half Japan-Spain
The second half opens with some substitutions by Japan and thanks to one of these it reaches a draw. In fact, in the 48th minute Doan, as soon as he entered, kicked from the edge of the penalty area and passed the Spanish goalkeeper, who appeared innocent. Japan believed it and in the 51st minute Tanaka took the lead thanks to an assist from Kaoru Mitoma from behind. Spain tries to recover the advantage but the Japanese close in well in defense and manage to carry the advantage until the end.
Japan wins and flies to the round of 16 as before, Spain reaches the round of 16 as runners-up, while Germany is eliminated like four years ago at Russia 2018.
