France-Morocco semifinal
Index
Presentation of the match
It’s an unprecedented semi-final, because it’s the first time Morocco has played such an important match in the World Cup, but no less fascinating than others for this. It will also be a match with important social implications, it is not for nothing that many Moroccan footballers were born in France and in turn several French footballers have Moroccan origins and in any case from North African countries once dominated by the French.
From a technical point of view, the match is entirely on France’s side, both for the level of its squad, for the experience that French players have, but also for the progress made so far in the matches played. Dechamps’ team is strong in all departments, starting with goalkeeper Lloris and finishing in attack with Mbappe, a true absolute phenomenon of this world championship.
Morocco, a real surprise of the tournament, makes the collective and the race its strength, has players of absolute level, like Hakimi and Ziyech. As he has demonstrated so far, he can put any opponent in difficulty, ask Spain and Portugal and France must not make the mistake of feeling already in the final. For Morocco it is already a dream to have reached the semi-finals, but in the other games they have shown that the dream can come true and in every game you have to fight and believe in it. We’ll see if they can repeat the other matches or if the energies expended to get to this semi-final have run out.
