Napoli wants to do it again. With the start of pre-season training for Serie A clubs just around the corner, while the players enjoy their final days of vacation before heading to training camps, club management is working hard in the transfer market to make sure squads are ready for the season kickoff on August 23.

Napoli leading the charge

All eyes are on the Neapolitan club. Aurelio De Laurentiis’ most important signing will remain on the bench: his name is Antonio Conte. Despite rumors swirling since March, the Salento-born coach decided to stay thanks to the guarantees provided by the club president. But what will the new Napoli look like?

The Scudetto-winning season reaffirmed one thing: the 4-3-3 formation, which Conte will use as a foundation. In goal, Alex Meret has renewed his contract and will be the confirmed starter. In defense—pending reinforcement at left-back—the likely back four includes Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani or Marianucci alongside Buongiorno, with Olivera completing the line.

Napoli’s attack: quality and depth

Napoli have pulled off the biggest signing of the summer with Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder, despite injury issues last season at Manchester City, will be the centerpiece of a midfield built on both quality and strength, with Lobotka and McTominay joining him.
Up front, the deal for Noa Lang is nearly finalized—he would complete a formidable attacking trio alongside Lukaku and Neres.

The transfer market may still shake things up: Napoli are very close to signing Beukema, who would pair with Buongiorno to form one of the strongest defensive duos in Serie A. The same goes for the attack—if Manna pushes to sign Ndoye, the Swiss forward could take Neres’ spot, joining Lukaku and Noa Lang, possibly relegating Raspadori to a backup role.

Conte has also been testing a potential change of formation. From a 4-3-3, the team could shift to a 3-5-2, but always with the same underlying principles: high intensity and vertical play. This setup would maximize De Bruyne’s positioning, possibly pushing him further forward, allowing Anguissa to slot into midfield.

A Napoli built on both depth and flair, with one clear goal: to reconfirm their strength in Italy and go as far as possible in Europe.
