Calcio Deal Review About The Squad
After the defeat on penalties to rival Atlético-GO in the state championship final, Goiás fired coach Guto Ferreira. The interim Emerson Ávila took over, gave Goiás a new face and has the team in the 4-2-3-1, while his predecessor used the 4-3-3.
The current team is more cautious, does not have a prominent offensive production, but has more defensive security, now playing with more difficult opponents. Forward Matheus Peixoto is isolated in front, waiting to take advantage of an opportunity usually produced by the left side with Vinícius and full-back Sander with 9 assists in the season.
Despite noting the evolution of work with Emerson Ávila, Goiás intends to fight against relegation in the Brazilian Championship.
