Palmeiras 0x2 Atlético-MG and end of the 27th round

Palmeiras Hulk

Palmeiras suffered a defeat to Atlético-MG at Allianz Parque, marking their fourth consecutive loss in the Brasileirão. This unprecedented occurrence in the Abel Ferreira era represents Palmeiras’ worst streak in the competition since 2020 when, between the end of Vanderlei Luxemburgo’s tenure and Andrey Lopes’ interim period, the team lost to Botafogo, São Paulo, Coritiba, and Fortaleza.

Flamengo secured a victory over Cruzeiro at Mineirão in Tite’s debut, while Santos was defeated by Bragantino at Vila Belmiro.

Finally, Fluminense and Corinthians played out an electrifying draw at Maracanã.

Palmeiras 0x2 Atlético-MG

With just 1 minute of the game, Galo opened the score. Hulk received the ball on the right and unleashed a rocket from outside the box into the corner of Weverton’s goal, who, given his quality, could have made the save.

At the 13th minute, Hulk tried his luck from long range again, this time from a free-kick, and Weverton tipped it over for a corner.

In the first-half stoppage time, at the 48th minute, Guilherme Arana made a skillful solo run down the left, reached the byline, and crossed it to Otávio, who was perfectly blocked by Murilo.

At the 15th minute, Piquerez passed to Luis Guilherme at the edge of the box, who attempted a shot towards the top corner. The ball narrowly missed and went wide.

Galo extended their lead on a counter-attack at the 30th minute. Saravia delivered a beautiful through ball to Paulinho, who advanced alone and, one-on-one with Weverton, calmly slotted in the second goal.

In one of the final moments of the game, at the 50th minute, Gustavo Gómez headed the ball to Flaco López, who found himself unmarked in the small area, but was denied by a superb save from Éverson.

With this victory, Galo bounces back in the table and exacerbates the crisis for Palmeiras.

Fluminense 3×3 Corinthians

Fluminense and Corinthians delivered a thrilling spectacle, featuring beautiful goals and excitement until the end.

In the first half, Corinthians displayed a different approach from their usual style in the Brasileirão, as they were a team that defended aggressively and created their chances by pressuring Fluminense’s ball distribution.

Corinthians scored their first two goals, both by Yuri Alberto, with assists from Maycon. At the 9th minute, the midfielder made a run from midfield and sent Yuri Alberto into the box. The number 9 executed a deft and skillful chip to surprise Fábio and open the scoring.

At the 15th minute, Yuri Alberto missed an unbelievable chance. Cano attempted to assist in clearing the ball but ended up gifting it to Yuri Alberto. Completely unmarked in the small box, the Corinthians forward tried a first-time volley and sent it wide.

Fluminense leveled the score at the 21st minute. After a ball into the box, Cano lifted it, Lima controlled it with his left and struck it with the inside of his right foot. The ball found the top corner, and Cássio didn’t even move.

Corinthians regained the lead due to a bizarre mistake by Marcelo. At the 26th minute, the full-back attempted to pass back to Fábio but left the ball for Maycon, who advanced and once again set up Yuri Alberto, who calmly slotted in his second goal for Timão.

Just 2 minutes later, Corinthians extended their lead through a questionable penalty call involving Marlon and Ruan Oliveira. Fábio Santos took the spot-kick, firing it low and across the goal.

The second half was a different game, with Fluminense dominating all the actions while Corinthians struggled to move past the midfield.

Flu pulled one back at the 10th minute. Lima pounced on a loose ball following a corner kick clearance by Fábio Santos and unleashed a sensational long-range strike for another goal.

After plenty of possession and several opportunities, Tricolor finally leveled the score. At the 38th minute, Ganso played a through ball to Arias behind the defense. The Colombian infiltrated the box and slotted a low cross to equalize the score at Maracanã.

Fluminense continued to push for the lead, especially with Keno’s headed chance, but they couldn’t find the fourth goal.

Cruzeiro 0x2 Flamengo

In Tite’s debut, Flamengo won away from home against Cruzeiro with goals from Ayton Lucas and a penalty by Pedro. Cruzeiro has yet to secure a victory at Mineirão in 2023.

Santos 1×3 Bragantino

Riding high on a streak of three consecutive victories, Santos received a cold shower as they were defeated by Bragantino at Vila Belmiro. Sasha scored twice, and Ramires added the third for Massa Bruta, while Léo Ortiz (own goal) pulled one back for Peixe.
